The ZFHX4 research network is a collaboration project aiming for the understanding of the pathophysiological mechanisms underlying the ZFHX4-associated syndrome. The project is carried out by researchers at the Institute for Medical and Molecular Genetics of the University Hospital La Paz (Madrid, Spain) and the Center for Medical Genetics of Ghent University Hospital (Ghent, Belgium). Research being undertaken includes ZFHX4 mouse model, cellular biology and clinical research.
We are currently preparing a publication describing the clinical characteristics and phenotype-genotype correlations in a large cohort of individuals with alterations in ZFHX4. Additionally, we are describing the underlying pathophysiological mechanisms. We have developed a mask of the syndrome associated with ZFHX4 in collaboration with Face2gene that is available at https://www.face2gene.com/.
