NAA10

Management

Close developmental surveillance by a pediatrician with appropriate referral for early intervention and ongoing support at and after school.

An echocardiogram is recommended for all individuals with NAA10-related disorder, with a referral to a heart specialist (cardiologist) if there are any concerns. Types of heart conditions reported in individuals with NAA10-related condition include small holes in the heart (atrial or ventricular septal defects) and changes in the main blood vessels from the heart (pulmonary artery and aorta). Some individuals develop cardiac arrhythmias, although it is currently unknown if this is primary, or secondary to pulmonary infections or aspiration events.
