MYO18B

Molecular Characteristics for Families

MYO18B is a gene that helps organize the components/proteins of muscles to allow them to contract in a normal way; it also appears to play a role in the proper separation of the vertebrae from each other. Thus, mutations in MYO18B can affect those functions on a molecular level and lead to muscle weakness and Klippel-Feil anomaly, in addition to the features described in the previous sections.
