LAMA5

Research collaboration

The Lama5 V3144M knock-in mouse model in heterozygous and homozygous conditions was generated in collaboration with Mouse Modeling Facility at Institute of Genetics and Biophysics “Adriano Buzzati Traverso” – CNR (Naples, Italy). The mutated model is cryopreservated at CNR- European Mouse Mutant Archive (EMMA) (Monterotondo-Rome, Italy). The mouse model was generated by introducing the Lama5 missense mutation c.9430 G>A (p.V3144M) which is syntenic to the human c.9418G>A (p.V3140M mutation) (Sampaolo S et al. 2017).

Aims

  • Histological, biochemical, biomolecular expression studies of Lama5 from the embryo to old age in wild type and mutated mouse (heterozygous and homozygous model).
  • In vivo studies on the biological activities of molecules, drugs and nutrients previously tested in vitro as able to modulate the expression and/or functions of LAMA5in vitro (primary cell cultures).
