Children with IREB2-associated neurodegeneration typically present at age 3-6 months with delay in reaching developing milestones, later resulting in severe physical disability (cerebral palsy) and intellectual disability. Symptoms appear to increase in severity over time. The children reported to date have not learned to walk and have had minimal speech. Other features reported in some children are anemia and seizures.
