GZF1

Management

Currently, there is no known cure for GZF1-related syndrome. Treatment of the manifestations, symptom management, and supportive care are recommended.

While there is no cure to this disorder, each of its manifestations can be managed by the appropriate specialty such that a multidisciplinary approach to coordinate the potentially complex management plan for these children is necessary.  For example, audiologists may be needed to assess and treat hearing loss, orthopaedic surgery may be recommended to correct skeletal abnormalities, and long-term physiotherapy may be needed to strengthen the joints. In addition, geneticists can provide valuable genetic counselling for the affected individuals and their families.
