CELF4 gene is located on chromosome 1812.2 and encodes CELF4 protein, a RNA-binding protein that plays an important role in regulating the expression of multiples genes at the mRNA level. Deletions of chromosome 18q12 causing CELF4 disruption are associated with neurodevelopmental disorders including intellectual disability, behavioral disorders, autism and less frequently with febrile seizures or epilepsy.
